Pupil Premium
We ask all parents and carers who are eligible to sign up for free school meals as registering will raise extra money for Shirley School from central government, which will benefit their child. This is known as 'Pupil Premium' and is used to fund various things such as: extra tuition, teaching assistants, targetted support in class, support for families or school trips.
Shirley Investment of Pupil Premium Funding
In our latest school census, 40% of Shirley pupils receive pupil premium funding. We invest this funding in a range of ways to help children improve their academic progress, attendance and wellbeing, as well as ensuring wider opportunities are provided for children at our school. We believe every child has the potential to achieve great things, so we ensure investments and plans are made with our 'Learning for Life' motto firmly in mind.
