Mission Statement and Values

At Shirley School, we are dedicated to fostering a friendly, happy, and successful learning environment within the vibrant Chesterton community of Cambridge. Our inclusive school welcomes children from diverse backgrounds, many of whom speak English as an additional language. Our dedicated staff nurtures and supports each child, ensuring they feel valued and excited to learn every day.

Our mission, encapsulated in our motto "Cognita Vitae" (Learning for Life), is to equip children with the knowledge, creativity, and understanding they need to thrive both now and in the future. We are proud to be the first school in the country to receive the Equalities Award, reflecting our commitment to inclusivity and excellence.

Our broad and enriching curriculum focuses on developing the whole child, emphasising key skills and emotional health through various innovative and supportive programs. We aim to nurture powerful learners with curious, independent minds, ready to face future challenges with resilience and creativity.
