What We’ve Been Up To: Anti-Bullying Week and Children in Need Fun!
This week has been super busy and super exciting in Year 4! It was Anti-Bullying Week, and we learned so much about kindness, respect, and how to look out for each other.
We kicked things off by making a poster all about what bullying is—and what it isn’t. It really helped us understand the difference between bullying and just having a little disagreement. Now, we can spot bullying if we see it and know how to help make our school a safe, happy place for everyone.
Our theme this week was Respect, and we had so much fun learning how to grow respect in our classroom. We drew these cool Respect Webs, where we saw how one kind act—like saying “thank you” or helping a friend—can spread and connect to even more kind acts. It showed us how powerful respect really is!
After that, we made a big, colorful window display full of flowers and leaves that bloom with all the ways we can show respect. It’s bright, happy, and reminds us every day to keep being kind and thoughtful.
To end the week, we had a special treat—it was Children in Need on Friday, and guess what? We got to give Pudsey Bear a high five! 🐻✨ It was so exciting, and it felt great knowing that we were raising money to help children who need it most.
What a week it’s been! We’ve worked hard, learned lots, and had so much fun along the way. We can’t wait to keep spreading respect and kindness in everything we do! 🌟
Wow! What a fantastic start we’ve had to the autumn term in Year 4. We've been busy learning lots of exciting new things and having fun along the way!
In English, we've read a brilliant story called Cinnamon, which has inspired us to use some really creative vocabulary in our writing. It’s amazing to see how everyone’s imagination is growing as we explore the story and bring it to life with our words!
In Science, we’ve been learning all about animals and their habitats. One of the highlights was exploring our school playground to find insects using bug catchers. After that, we used a special key to identify the different types of invertebrates we discovered. It’s been so interesting learning about the hidden world of bugs right on our doorstep!
Geography has taken us beneath the surface of the Earth as we learn about what happens beneath our feet. We’ve had so much fun replicating the movement of tectonic plates using crackers and cream – who knew learning could be so tasty? We’ve also created amazing volcano collages, labelling them with all the scientific vocabulary we’ve learned. It’s been explosive fun (but don’t worry, no real volcanoes erupted)!
We can’t wait to see what the rest of the term holds for us. Keep up the great work, Year 4!
