First Weeks Back - September 2024
Our first few weeks back in Year 3 have been packed full of learning and fun! We have been focusing on building relationships with each other and creating rules for our classrooms. We have been looking at a great story called 'Sparky!' and have written our own versions of the story based on strange pets that we drew and created.
We have also been looking at a range of exciting things in our foundation subjects, ranging from the diet of a Stone Age person, to sketching our own versions of Renaissance paintings! It has been a very fun few weeks, and we can't wait to share our learning with some of you during Foxes class assembly on the 25th October! See you then!
Hello Yellow Day! - 11th October 2024
Today was Hello Yellow day! We completed all kinds of activites that were focused on our mental health and staying calm. We created 'Comfort Creatures' which had qualities which we found helpful when we were sad. There are a couple of examples below! We also produced some toolboxes with strategies for helping us stay calm when we are sad, worried or angry. At break time and lunch time, the children did some special Hello Yellow day dancing out on the playground with Ms Morel and Mrs Muffato! We also made some posters with ideas to stay happy and calm, as well as giving ideas to cheer others up. In the afternoon, we had a sharing assembly! Lots of children worked very hard to practise their lines, and were very proud to share their learning with the whole school.
Stone Age Day! - 25th October 2024
What a day! We started off our fantastic day of Stone Age learning with a wonderful class assembly from Foxes class all about prehistory. A catchy song started our day off fantastically as we returned to our classrooms to complete a range of exciting activites. This included knapping soap into 'flint' tools and gathering natural materials to make our own paints. We then painted Stone Age pictures onto some paper. We finished the day with a Stone Age afternoon in the nature area where we sat around a campfire, ground seeds and baked apples. What a lovely day!
