Here is Mr. Cattermole's update for everyone - Friday 5th February.

Following the Prime Minister's announcement on Monday 4th January, as part of the current Lockdown arrangements in England, our school is closed until February half term at the earliest.  Please see below for further information:

  • Children of critical workers and vulnerable pupils can be booked into our school bubbles, if they cannot be cared for at home.  If you need to book a place, please call or email the school - office@shirley.cambs.sch.uk - by 3.00 p.m. on Thursday each week, to be able to book slots for the following week.
  • The school day for those sessions is 9.00 a.m. - 3.00 p.m.  Gates open 8.55 - 9.10 a.m. and 2.55 - 3.10 p.m.  Our pre-school remains open.
  • Learning will take place remotely with lessons posted on our website.  Please visit the Classes pages and choose 'Remote Learning' for each year group.  We will soon be offering 'live' lessons delivered by staff - further information to follow soon.
  • Children at school in bubbles will follow the same remote learning activities as those at home, as well as live lessons.
  • Please continue to check your school emails for further updates.
Please visit out COVID-19 page for the latest advice and information about COVID-19 and how we are managing this in school.
Dear Parents and Carers,

If you need to contact the school office please do so by email office@shirley.cambs.sch.uk in the first instance or by ringing 01223 712252.  Please do not come to the school office in person.

Winter Support Scheme and Winter Grant Scheme

Please find below important information regarding the Winter Support Scheme and how to claim.

We are offering 15 and 30 hours of free childcare. To find out if you are eligible for the 30 hours entitlement, please click on the link below.
We continue to follow all of the latest COVID guidance and our systems of cleaning the school throughout the day, as well as ensuring there is plenty of hand washing at key times, continue to operate well.  Children are learning well in their bubbles, and only mixing with children in their year groups at break and lunch times.  Again, we are pleased with how this is working, and this will continue to be the case until any changes to the Government guidance.
