Do you dare play the Ancient game of Pok a Tok? 
In our English lessons we have been learning all about the Ancient Mayan Ball Game, Pok a Tok! This was a gruelling game where players had to get a heavy rubber ball through a hoop high in the air.... without using their hands or feet!

We love to see any kind of learning happening during this time. This week, one Sea Turtle in has been practising the piano! Perhaps she was inspired by our Guided Reading text on Beethoven's life?

We've been really impressed with your effort and engagement this week Year 6! Well done those of you who have managed to email or send your work via Teams. We've also enjoyed seeing you've completed your learning. Some of you worked on a computer or tablet and some of you worked using pen and paper. We love all the different ways you're working. Remember to complete your work in a way that works best for you!

Year 6 have got stuck into the new year with some very special philosophy lessons.
 
Some of us have even been enjoying the new P4C books!

Year 6 had an amazing afternoon learning all about the House of Parliament via the Internet thanks to the amazing team at UK Parliament Learning.
 
Year 6 discovered what MPs do, what the role of the government is, what the opposition party do and how bills are turned into laws.

Year 6 have been busy with their Maths work recently focusing on ordering and comparing numbers. The weather was so nice for one we decided to go outside to make some number lines!

Year 6 finished off the half term and their last Maths lesson by reading up where roman numerals came from - fascinating stuff!
Thursday 12th November 2020
 
Year 6 loved their first music lesson of the term. First they discovered the awesome music of The Beatles and listened to Blackbird. Then they began to copy the rhythm of the song using claves and djembe.
