Garden Power Writing
We love using our wonderful outdoor areas to inspire children's work. It's engaging and a lot of fun! So we recently decided to start linking up looking after the garden with our Power Writing lessons. Each class gets an opportunity to look after the garden for a week. This involves watering, weeding, planting and harvesting. Some tasks happen daily but the whole class go out into the garden together at least once during the week. Some classes take photos, others make observational drawings, but everyone helps out with what's growing and gets stuck in. We use this to write a journal entry for the school gardening journal during our Power Writing lesson that week. Wonderful writing, wonderful fun!
