This half term our new IPC topic has been Space Explorers.
This topic has covered aspects of our solar system. We have been looking at the relationship between Earth and the different planets, and exploring the concepts of rotation, orbit and gravity.
You can be helping your child at home by:
Exploring what are the different planets in our solar system? What are their main features? What have been the major initiatives so far to explore our solar system?
Researching the movements of the Earth, Sun and Moon and how they affect us.
Watching a documentary on questions and ideas. Is there extra-terrestrial life out there? What is a light year? Currently the BBC has a number of these on their catch up service and on their science/ space page.
Supporting them in reading at home! Why not borrow some books on space from the library? Please remind your child to bring in their book bag each day. Books can be changed at the start or end of the school day or during guided reading time.
